One of Olubadan’s roles is to reward excellence and outstanding achievement. In addition to decorations awarded through the honours system, Olubadan presents a number of prizes and medals in his own name. These special honours reflect outstanding achievement either by individuals or by groups in fields which include architecture, exploration, poetry, police work and science.
